Losing a little bit of belly fat and getting slim, in order to fit in those old jeans is a dream of many overweight people today. The thing that holds them back is the idea of exercise and also cutting out their favorite foods from their diet. This has always, and remains to be a problem, but does it really have to be?

The idea that you need to completely cut out all bad foods immediately is close to insane. Almost nobody will be able to do that! It’s hard to give up tons of foods overnight, and that’s the biggest reason most “diets” never work.

In order to keep a maintained and controlled weight through diet you should be aiming at eating more good foods vs less bad foods, obviously, but also focus on just eating smaller meals. If you eat smaller meals you’ll find that you can start to shrink your waistline and eat more frequently.

The main food intake should come from less calorie dense foods like fruits and vegetables. These foods have a high volume of food, while proving little energy, or calories. The negative side of the coin would be chocolate or soda. These are just empty calories and you take in a lot of them without even noticing it.

Drink a lot of water each day in order to flush out excess salt. This will also help prevent cravings. Cravings are something you’ll have to deal with. Almost everybody who tries to lose weight will have cravings for food.

The best way to maintain a good weight, while enjoying the occasional “bad meal” is to actually exercise in order to compensate for bad foods. I myself, tend to treat myself more on the weekends, that way I reward myself for this weeks good work, while staying in control of my food intake.

As you can see we have covered just a fraction of the things you can do to your diet without having to make drastic changes. Just choose the fruit over the candy bar and the water of the soda and you’ll be consciously making wiser choices towards a healthier life!
